Established in 1981, Lo & Lo LLP has been serving Southern California individuals and businesses for over 40 years. We have the expertise you’re looking for, whether you’re . . .
Thousands of clients have come through our doors over the past four decades. These have included individuals of various backgrounds and nationalities. We have helped businesses ranging from small and mid-sized companies to publicly traded corporations, in industries such as real estate, construction, import/export, manufacturing, hospitality, technology, financial services, restaurants, and transportation.
In all cases, our focus is on maintaining client satisfaction and delivering top-class results.
Our firm is family-owned and family-run. Founder and senior partner Michael Y. Lo set up the practice as the Law Offices of Michael Y. Lo in 1981 (we adopted our current name in 2017). Michael sadly passed away in 2021, but his legacy (and the firm that proudly bears his name) will live on for many years to come.
Partner Jonathan J. Lo works on business law, real estate law, estate planning, and bankruptcy cases. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, and obtained his Juris Doctorate at Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles.
During law school, Jonathan served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Neil Bason of the United States Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles, CA, where he drafted memoranda and analyzed legal issues for Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters.
He served as a legal assistant in this office from 2010 until 2015, working on cases across almost all of our practice areas.
Since qualifying as a lawyer in December 2015, Jonathan has worked in a range of practice areas, including bankruptcy, probate, criminal law, expungement of prior criminal records, conservatorships, trusts and wills, real estate, contract disputes, ADA claims, medical malpractice claims, personal injury claims, and intellectual property claims.
Kelvin J. Lo, also a partner, focuses primarily on civil and business litigation. Kelvin holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, where he was a Note and Comment Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. Kelvin also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.
Kelvin served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Robert N. Kwan at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles, California, where he drafted memoranda and analyzed legal issues in federal bankruptcy adversary litigation and a variety of Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy matters. As a summer law clerk at Geragos & Geragos, APC in 2016, he worked on a variety of complex litigation cases.
As a legal assistant in this firm from 2011 to 2017, he worked on numerous bankruptcy and civil litigation matters.

Chhoeuth Chhour and Chanley Ke, Riverside County Superior Court Case No. RIC1718857).

Throughout its four-decade history, the firm has served clients large, medium, and small, internationally and locally in the Southern California area, and has earned a reputation as a firm that takes care of its clients.
Here, we look at some of the most notable cases we’ve worked on over the years.
On 25 May 2002, a Boeing 747-209B disintegrated in mid-air and crashed into the Taiwan Strait, killing all 225 people on board. The firm represented a decedent’s estate and won a substantial settlement from the defendant, China Airlines.
The firm co-represented a Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed semiconductor manufacturing company on a multimillion-dollar breach of contract claim that went to a jury trial. The case eventually settled to the client’s satisfaction after a post-trial motion and hearing.
The firm has handled many Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases from start to finish.
We have also acted as reorganization counsel to a variety of individual and corporate debtors in 19 Chapter 11 cases. The firm has served as creditor counsel in four more Chapter 11 cases, and as special counsel in one.
As we look to the future, we’re determined to continue serving clients with the devotion, innovation, skill, and client-first approach for which we’ve become known.
