The late Michael Y. Lo founded the firm in 1981. Over the past 40 years, he accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and experience handling every case you could imagine, but his focus became business and bankruptcy related matters until his passing in 2021.

When his two sons joined the firm, Michael mentored and shared his experiences with them. Coming from the old generation of immigrants with an engineering type of personality, he instilled in his sons the value of being diligent, ethical, meticulous, measuring twice and cutting once.

Michael was fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese which served him well for his international business clients. He had a knack for being able to explain complicated legal concepts in layman’s terms.

Michael lived a fulfilling life and enjoyed golfing, travelling, golf club-making, and experimenting with different cuisine in his spare time.
